They are saying that if my pain is under control that they'll let me go home tomorrow.
They decided not to drain the abscess. It is about 2.2 cm long and 1.2 wide in my right kidney. The doctor thought it would be more dangerous to drain it then to use antibiotics. I will still need some pretty heavy antiobiotics for it though. The first 10 days I need to use intravenous drugs and then I can go to oral for an additional 20 days. Then they'll rescan and make sure it's gone.
I got a pick line put in today and to tell you the truth is was a pretty pleasant experience. The nurse who did it was so funny and she made me feel so relaxed that we had no problems.
Now I just need to get my pain under control and I'll get to go home.

I'm glad they've got it figured out. Are you feeling in better yet? I hope you get to go home soon and can get back to feeling normal (or better than normal!). :)
