Swing set and slide

Well the playground is almost done. We are going to put a nice blue stain on it. We need to put on a tarp to protect the kids from the sun and we thought some lattice on the walls would help protect the kids from falling off and give the neighbors a little more privacy. I wish I had something this cool when I was a kid. While I was looking for a cheap slide on craigslist, I found the yellow one and I couldn't believe that someone was getting rid of it for so cheap.

NO MORE DIAPERS!

Clara decided that she wanted to start using the potty of the weekend. She has been wearing real panties ever since. That means that I am done with diapers - FOREVER (just wait I'll get pregnant next week because I said that). I am so excited I just had to tell everyone.

WOO HOO, NO MORE DIAPERS!

Playground Update

I wanted to show everyone how much Dave has done on his little project. When it is done we will have the monkey bars and swingset attached and another slide off the other side. We will probably get some type of tarp to make a roof but that will have to be something we are going to buy and I don't know how much they cost. Dave spent all day putting it together and sanding the wood so it wouldn't give the kids splinters. Although the kids are excited, I still think it is more for us then it is for them.

This is Lily and her friend being squirted by Isaac. Isaac loves to torment Lily and anyone else around.
I found this so funny because this is what Joe was doing while the last picture was being taken.

Our New Playground

We got a wooden playground for free on craigslist. Dave had to go and take it down and now he is putting it back together. The pictures are hard to see but if you can imagine it from a side view you will know what it is going to look like. There is going to be three decks with monkey bars and a slide going off the middle deck and a little slide going off the bottom deck. We are also going to have a swing set coming straight out but that was hard to show in the pictures, so you will just have to imagine it. The best part is that it was all free. The playground was actually bigger then the one we are building so we are going to have extra wood. We just don't have enough space in our backyard to build it to the specks of the other playground. I can't wait until it is done.

Isaac's Battle Wounds

Well, it wouldn't be a adventure if we didn't have an accident or two. Isaac was coming back from the park today with some friends. He ran ahead of everyone and ran straight into a sign that was on the edge of the sidewalk. He split his head wide open about 4 cm. Our friend Gretchen ran to our house to let us know Isaac was hurt while another child's parent took off his sock to stop the bleeding. Someone even stopped with there car to offer help. When I got there I took off the sock to see what it looked like and I could see his skull , it was that bad. Gretchen, Isaac and I ran to the closest instacare where he got about 15 stitches. (Gretchen came so she could show me where it was and to offer moral support). What an adventure!Isaac's head after the stitches.
Isaac head before the stitches. You can't see it all because of his hair. If you are easily faint don't look at this picture close up.

I think this is going to be all of them. This is our dining room. Dave finally got up the table so we didn't have to eat on the floor anymore. This is our kitchen. I don't know if you remember me complaining about the hideous cabinets and that I was going to have paint them. Well, the landlord already had when we moved in. The counters are pretty messy too, that is how you can tell it is our house.
When we can go in this bathroom except to take pictures I will be a lot happier. It sure is much prettier then it was before.
This is Clara and Joe's room. We set up a tv as soon as possible so we could give the kids something to do. All the rooms are still pretty messy. I will post some more pictures when they get organized (so in about 3 years).
I

I got a few more pictures of our place. This is our family room. It has this huge fire place that takes up half the room . This is also our new set of furniture we got. It cost all of $45 and came from Israel. The couch has a hide-a-bed in it but doesn't have a mattress. It was owned by an old couple an d it looks like it is brand new, just a bit out of style. This is our bathroom that has no door on it. Our neighbor brought over a curtain so we could have some privacy. The upstairs bathroom had new tile in it and we couldn't walk on it for a couple of days until the grout cured. They tried to have us move in a few days later because of it but we had no were to stay, so they gave in and let us move in.
This is our old fridge. If you look at the bigger picture you can see the huge crack in the bottom. You couldn't put anything down there because it would start to cave into the drawers. It also only had the one shelf and several of the door bars were broken.
Well, this is all the pictures of our place I can get on the computer right now. I will try to get some more later. The first one is of our new fridge. Our fridge was so bad that we didn't think we could use it. The landlord said they didn't have the money to get one right now. So, I looked on craigslist and got a new one for $50 bucks. It was missing a few of the bars on the inside of the door, so Dave took some bars from the old broken fridge and put them in the new one.
This is our backyard. It is awesome and I love it. We have a huge hive of bees in the playhouse but an exterminator is coming over within the next couple of days to get rid of them. They swarmed at Lily and her friend today but the girls were able to get away. We also have an apple, apricot and cherry tree. Some strawberries, raspberries and grapes. Oh, and rubbarb if anyone wants some of that.
