So, this is a tale of the mindless. I know that I am not always this ditsy but I guess it only takes one time before you never make this mistake again. I bought a ticket to come to Utah for me and my 3 kids. Frontier airlines was the cheapest by far and I really like there planes. I went to there website and bought my tickets directly from them. It looked something like this
Den to Salt Lake
7:00
9:00
9:30
12:20
2:30
5:30
They also have 3 tiers of prices and since we were travelling such a short distance and I wasn't planning on checking any bags anyways I thought I would go with the cheapest. Dave's flight left at 10:50 so I decided to take the 9:30 flight. So, this is what happened. I got 2 hours sleep, woke up the kids and drove like a mad women to the airport. I tried to check in and that is when I realized the 9:30 flight was 9:30 PM. How could I have missed that. I waited for an hour and 10 min. in line to talk to someone who told me the only thing they could do was change my itinerary for $150 per seat (since I had chosen the cheaper tickets). The tickets were $50 each so that would be three times what I paid. He was very nice and tried to get his supervisor to approve a flight change but they would not.
Dave had parked the van and is planning on driving to Utah to get us, so he needed the keys. So, what do I do. Check in - go through security - spend my last hour with Dave - watch Dave leave - and wait an addition 10 1/2 hours with 2 kids in the airport.
I also learned that they use to have a playground but they took it out during the Democratic national convention and never put it back. It erks me even more because they have a dog run but no where for people to take there kids. Clara is taking a nap right now and I am greatful for one thing, free internet and plugs. So, if anyone is wondering where I am, you now know. I am stuck in the Denver airport.

I'm so sorry! That's annoying that they couldn't change the flight for you. Most likely they have a lot of empty seats on all the other flights. And who would want to pay that much to go half a day early?!? I flew Frontier to Portland last week and I really liked the extra leg room in the plane, but I wasn't really a fan of anything else. It just seems like they aren't as customer friendly. I almost didn't get on the flight home because the plane was overbooked. I like going on vacation, but I'm not a huge fan of dealing with the airport.
Good luck and I hope you make it there before you get too bored at the airport!
I'm not very happy with Frontier Airlines. I can't believe they would rather send a plane with empty seats to Salt Lake then try to accommodate a poor little Mom traveling alone with little kids. Bad, bad, bad PR. I am not impressed! Boo!!!!!
